Maungaraki Staff Reflection mid year 2017

All teachers came together towards the end of Term 2 to reflect on where we were up to and moving forward into Term 3...
Here is what we recalled...busy, busy!

Tōtara
Production - Students writing the script
Kids in charge of class items/ costumes/ music and dance
Jubilee - Museum student driven
Bush Builders - kids making critter motels and Lizard garden refurbishment. Looking after the citizens of the bush/ our environment.
Bush Builders - Learning about our environment - Place based - our environment and the bush, looking after our environment/ community.
Jubilee -  Heritage, how we have developed as a community, our whakapapa
Production - Tuakana/ Teina - class items/ costumes
Kapa Haka - performance at production?
Te reo Māori in the classroom
Who can support:  Zoo staff, parents (costumes)

looking back to the beginning - Rangi and Papa

Jubilee - Schooling in the past (room 8 40s and 50s).
Looking at where we are at now, they are so lucky.
Looking at how other schools have developed orchards - and how we could plan this. How did this happen in the past

Kowhai
"Term 3:Who helps us and then in term four how can we help our community"
1. Tuakana teina- For term 4.
2. Using the vocab. Māori vocab for Police, firefighter.
3. Term 3 visit the church for Term 4 we help them. (Rangi and Papa)
4. We will find out what ...... has done for the school and then we will offer our services to them.
5.Student enrichment from our art/books. Talk to the kindy.
