check out our gardening

Mid year update

We are continuing to make everything we do more sustainable, green and embedded for our future. We are growing our student leadership around maintaining our current systems and developing new ones using our “teams” approach.

The Y7&8 G-Force leadership team have been working hard with Mrs Cavanagh to get funding to support the purchase of our solar panels.  We can’t wait to see when this happens.

The e-team have been meeting every Thursdays to discuss business and anything on top for our members.  We then break into the two smaller teams, the construction team (to build the bottle house - this is led by Richard, Duvan, Tasneem and Molly) The construction team has been working weekly on putting together the plastic bottle green house with Mr Marsh’s help. Then the gardening team (led by Regan, Grace, Jayme) The gardening team also has been moving slowly around all gardens, planting and weeding as we go.It is hoped that the veggie garden produce will go home to our community for use.

We hope that we will have another working bee, we have taken into consideration the feedback around doing this in the warmer months – possible Term 3 or early Term 4 option...watch this space.
