Enviro Meeting - 22 March 2017

22 March 2017 10.30-10.55am

Attendence

Absent: Dakota, Meghana, Tegwen were at an urgent librarian meetings.

New Business
Paper4Trees - Jiya is following up on checking how much paper recycling we have collected since October last year.  She will get back to us.

Visit to Koronui School - Miss Evans from Enviroschools has organised for a visit to Di Christenson from Koraunui School to visit their Greenhouse - which is still in the building process.  They work on it on Friday afternoons, - so could we set it up to visit on a Friday in term 2? Who is keen?? Maryann is keen.

Gretta joins Construction Gang due to clashes with music.

Holly checking on Composting posters as there was a library meeting today.

Wrap free stickers pushed out after Moving March finishes, end of March.  We will make sure we are in classrooms for 10mins while eating lunch to ensure kids are putting their rubbish in the right spot.  Once April begins we will start monitoring wrap free lunchbox and stamping them off. :)

Construction Gang: We need loads more bottles (1.5 ltr fizzy and 2.25 fizzy).
Ok for milk  - still collecting.
Sefton is making guttering and we have decided to move the position after careful consideration with Mr Robinson, we have shifted it to beside the pool changing shed.  Construction work every Thursday 11-12.30.
Designs of frames need to be shared.


Gardening Gang: Allie, Sam and Eden Greta, etc. Have decided that the gang will start gardening on a Monday lunchtime and Dianne can catch them there.


Class projects:
R2; 3; 4; 5 = are doing butterfly gardens - tiles - swan plants etc.
R6 - Euan Campbell and Meghena will go back to the class to ask.
R7 - Dakota and Noah N
R8 - Holly, Ali and Eli
R9+10 = bush builders/beautification.
R11+12 = bush builders


Composting: all good.  Make posters Tegwen and Meghena.
Wrap free stickers - have gone to classroom teachers - but yet to hand out waiting for the newsletter to go home to tell the parents.

Actions moving forward:
We have agreed to meet Wednesday lunchtimes, 12:30pm with our lunch.
E-team leaders will sit with kids while they eat their lunch every day to encourage using the bins properly.
Class Project leaders will ask the classroom teacher what they wish to do for the class projects and bring back to our next meeting.
