On the last tuesday of term 3 the enviro team planted ake ake trees around the weather staion. First we placed the trees around the weather staion while we waited around for the potting mix. The ground was really muddy and wet. Later on we got some spades and dug big holes so the trees could fit. We placed the potting mix in first, watered the potting mix, put the trees in, then put more potting mix to fill in the holes. After that, we got the watering cans and watered the new trees.
The trees are looking green and are being held up by bamboo stakes to help protect them against the wind.
